How to make a delicious
shake: |

First add your liquid to your shaker, or a blender if you are using one. Use cold water or a mix of cold water and juice (half/half). You can add a tablespoon (or a few tablespoons) of yoghurt or a spoon or two of soya milk powder if you like. (Read about this under soya milk powder). I use either yoghurt or soya milk and not both. Add a bit of frozen or fresh fruit (see Shake recipes) but remember that the more you add, the more calories you are putting in so don’t go wild if you are taking the shakes for weight loss. If you are trying to gain weight or just maintain you don’t have to worry. Using ice cubes in summer is a great idea. Be adventurous and try new recipes and ideas (send me your own recipes if you make something really divine!) |

For a really slimming shake: Use 350ml cold water, two scoops of shake (any flavour) and two scoops of protein powder. My favourite flavour for this shake is the Cookies and Cream. Optional: One scoop of soya milk powder. This is a great shake after a week-end or if you know you are going out to dinner or a party later….. |

For a weight gain shake: Add ice-cream or frozen yoghurt to your shakes and have your shakes as dessert. If you have your shake before your meal, you will not be hungry enough to eat your meal. On the weight gain program you need to have 3 meals a day and 3 shakes a day (as dessert). You can add in fruit, muesli, oats etc. This is also great for sports nutrition shakes as it is important for sportsman to increase their carbs for energy so make sure you add extras into your shake. See the separate Sports Nutrition doc on how to take the Herbalife program for Sport. |
